Chaturbate review 2026: token prices, private costs and our score

Chaturbate is where most people's first cam session happens, and that's not an accident. You land on a grid of live rooms, click one, and the show is playing. No popup asking for an email, no card form, no countdown timer. After fifteen years it is still the simplest way into live cams, and the largest.

Watching for free

Public rooms run on tip goals. A performer posts a target on screen ("800 tokens: show"), viewers chip in, and when the counter fills, everyone in the room sees what was promised. You can be one of the people who never tips and still see the full show. This is the main reason Chaturbate scores 9.8 for its free experience.

A free account adds chat, follows and notifications when favourites go live. It doesn't need a card. If you want performers to talk to you, make one: grey guest names tend to get ignored in busy rooms.

What tokens cost

Swipe to compare more columns

The smallest pack costs 37% more per token than the largest. For a first try, the 100-token pack is fine. It caps what you can spend. If you come back regularly, the 500 or 1,000 pack pays for itself quickly.

Private shows, spy shows and tipping

Every performer sets her own rates, and they're printed on the buttons below the video before you click anything. Private rates on Chaturbate commonly run from 6 to 90 tokens a minute. At the 1,000-pack price, that's about $0.48 to $7.20 a minute. Use the calculator above, or the site-wide cost per minute calculator, to check a specific rate.

Spy shows are the underrated feature here. When someone takes a performer private, you can often pay a much lower rate to watch. You can't make requests, but it's the cheapest way to see a full private show, and a good way to decide whether someone is worth a private of your own.

Many rooms have interactive toys linked to tips, so a 25-token tip produces a visible reaction. Tip menus list fixed prices for specific requests.

The roster

More rooms are live at peak than on any other site we track, split into women, men, couples and trans, with tags for language, age range and interests. Most performers are independent and broadcast from home. Expect variety more than polish. Picture quality ranges from excellent to webcam-on-a-shelf.

Where it falls short

The free experience comes with ads and a busy layout unless you pay for Supporter, a monthly plan that removes ads and lets you send private messages. Rates vary hugely from room to room, which keeps the price transparency score below 9: the price is always visible, but there's no house rate to rely on. Support is ticket-based and not instant.

Paying and privacy

Card and several alternative methods, including crypto. Charges show under a neutral billing name; the exact descriptor is on the checkout page. There's no card fee on token packs. Turn on two-factor authentication in settings.

Who should use Chaturbate

Almost everyone, at least to start. It's the best free cam site, a good-value site for privates if you buy bigger packs, and the place with the most choice. If you want studio-quality one-to-one shows, LiveJasmin does that better. If you want the cheapest private minute, BongaCams is about 27% cheaper. On a phone, Stripchat is smoother.

For gay viewers

Chaturbate's Men category is one of the largest live gay sections anywhere, and it works exactly like the rest of the site: public rooms are free with no signup, shows happen at tip goals, and privates and spy shows use the same token prices. Filter by tags to narrow it down. See our gay cam sites ranking.
